Hi Winos,

It’s your favorite Proprietor back with some updates on the vineyards.

Harvest Projections

As we’ve expressed before, this is quite a cool vintage which changes our timeline for harvest. By now, we’ve usually already harvested Eds’ Vineyard and we’re preparing to receive Pinot and Grenache Gris from up north. But, this year we’re starting laaateeeee.

We’re projected to be about 4 weeks behind the usual timeline this year which could very well mean we’ll be pulling fruit up until Thanksgiving if the weather permits it.

Our Sauvignon Blanc

Today I went into the vineyards to select samples to test our acids, sugars and pH on the grapes for Eds’ Vineyard. The fruit looks SO pretty.

Eds’ Sauvignon Blanc

According to our sugar and acid levels, we’re going to have a beautifully racy little Sauvignon Blanc with high acid and delicious underripe pineapple and citrusy notes. I look forward to seeing this fruit make its way through the next heatwave coming this weekend.

More Wine Coming Your Way

Another update, our Chardonnay is also anticipated to be coming in soon as well with solid sugar levels hopefully jumping a bit in the next couple of weeks should be great. White wines are almost always the first to show up.

Our lovely club members and friends of the winery often ask us when harvest is and how they’d love to partake. We’d love to have you! The problem is, we start at 6am, and we usually don’t determine the harvest dates until a few days before. We only harvest plots one day at a time and for a few hours at a time. It’s important to keep the fruit naturally chilled before it gets to the winery; otherwise we could have spontaneous fermentation.

Well, I’m excited for this next club shipment. Our members get a VERY special bottle of wine. Our 2019 FIVE is only available to the club. Only 40 cases were made and this is our first wine fermented by native yeast. Pretty spectacular wine as well. It impressed many writers from Wine & Spirits Magazine and Vinohead, as well as local buyers. I hope you like it as much as I do. Want a bottle? Join our club.

That’s all I have for today. I hope you all have a wonderful safe rest of your week and weekend!

Cheers,

Amanda
