Proprietor’s Blog 1/4 Happy 2023!

Today is the first Wine Wednesday of the New Year! How exciting! As we begin to settle into the 2023 vintage, I am looking towards the future of AJA and learning what that means to me, and to all of you.

There are a lot of exciting happenings at the winery. We’re just two months away from bottling our whites and rose, we’re working on re-branding and getting prepared for the future of AJA.

2023 will be our 13th vintage as a winery. In the last 12 years we’ve learned so much about our wines and have continued to change and grow not only the wines and vines, but us as wine proprietors.

A few fun things we’re going to be rolling out:

1. A new segment called Friday Night Wines where we pair tasty dishes with our favorite wines to help you find great ways to enjoy them! Starting this Friday, start getting exciting new wine pairings to have up your sleeve!
2. How to Wine, where we answer all of your wine questions. From how to open a bottle, to storing wine, we’re going to teach you all! If you have any questions or had any previous questions that you may not have had the chance to ask, please feel free to reach out to us via our email portal and we might feature your question!
3. SPOILER ALERT! AJA is making a NEW wine this year that will be available in April!!! We’re very excited to introduce to you our brand new CHARDONNAY! We’re excited to finally be able to answer the question “Do you have Chardonnay” with a resounding YES! Stay tuned for wine tastings and explanations coming soon!

For all who feel strongly one way or another about Chardonnay, I urge you to try this wine. It will be as I enjoy Chardonnay, bright, fresh, with an ever so slight kiss of oak to give beautiful texture and a long finish. My Dad dislikes almost every Chardonnay I put in front of him, but this time I know he’ll enjoy this…because we make approachable wines enjoyed by all! I am very excited to share this with you all.

So, 2023 is going to be an exciting year and we cannot wait to share with you what’s in store!
