Hi Everyone!
Today we are going to be talking about my favorite holiday–and the best day of the year–the 4th of July. From watching fireworks, to hosting dinner parties, every event on the 4th of July is made better with a drink in hand. To celebrate this dazzling holiday, I have put together a list of the perfect wine pairings and cannot wait to share them with you all.
But before I begin, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Courtney Langston and I am one of the new interns at AJA Vineyards. I am a senior at Cal Poly SLO studying Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations. I am very excited to continue to grow my knowledge of both digital marketing and the wine industry, and to work with Amanda and the rest of the team here at AJA Vineyards.
Rosé is the perfect light and refreshing drink when you need something to cool you down on this hot summer day. The crisp and refreshing notes of our Rosé pair with hints of peach, nectarine, yellow cherries, and strawberries to provide your palate with the perfect summer sip. I would recommend enjoying our Rosé with a delicious summer salad. My perfect summer salad–which I actually had last night with dinner–includes watermelon, pistachios, cucumber, feta, avocado, pickled onions, and mint.
In the heat of the summer, you may tend to stray away from red wine and go to grab a bottle of something lighter, but I am here to tell you to indulge in that bottle of red because there are some red wines that pair perfectly with all of your 4th of July festivities.
Light reds are perfect to pull out at the family barbeque and pair perfectly with a nice piece of brie and a juicy mushroom burger. The refreshing and bright notes of our Cabernet Sauvignon also include the flavors of sweet black berries and delicious cherries, making it the best red wine to enjoy this 4th of July.
Last, but certainly not least, let’s talk about white wine! Our Sauvignon Blanc rounds out our list of the perfect wines for the 4th of July holiday. We are ending on my personal favorite summertime wine. AJA’s Happy Canyon Sauvignon Blanc features bright notes of lime, grapefruit, peach, and pineapple, and each sip is more refreshing than the last. Seafood and green vegetables pair excellently with this white wine, so think green when pairing this wine with the perfect holiday dinner! I recommend enjoying this wine lakeside, poolside, or wherever you may find yourself this 4th of July.
